It’s painful to watch people make one mistake after another. Today, many parents are finally figuring out that “dating” is a dysfunctional mess. The solution: “No Dating Until You Are 30.”
The correct solution is Courtship, which you can read about in any Jane Austen novel. Basically, a woman is “presented to society” around Age 16. She is marriageable. She lives at her father’s house in a state of Chastity, until marriage — ideally around Age 18-20, with a few stragglers until around Age 25. Any woman who makes it to 26 without being married is on the Spinster Track. No sex before marriage — but you only have to wait until around Age 19. What’s so hard about that? Then, a woman has at least three children during her peak childbearing years, 16-32. That is, three children before Age 32, not starting at Age 32. Maybe five.
Some women are even internalizing this, without parental coercion. Yes, it’s a joke … sort of.
Of course this presents a problem. Why does it take people a decade to figure these things out?
